Dr. Jonathan Lee, Ph.D., University of Ottawa, Ottawa, ON, Canada
Symposium Chair
Dr. Jonathan Lee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Ottawa. His research programme includes studying the cell migration and actin remodelling and cancer. Dr. Lee has discovered a new gene involved in ovarian cancer, protein elongation factor eEF1A2. This gene has oncogenic properties and his work includes investigating the tumorigenic properties of eEF1A2 through bioinformatic and proteomic technologies, building a transgenic mouse model of eEF1A2 and designing novel cancer agents to inactivate this oncogene. Dr. Lee is chair of Symposium III: Models of Ovarian Cancer for Mechanistic and Therapeutic Studies.
