Dr. Janet Dancey is the Director of Clinical Translational Research at the NCIC Clinical Trials Group (NCIC CTG). She is a medical oncologist by training and a Professor in the Department of Oncology at Queen’s University. She was recently appointed Program Leader of High Impact Clinical Trials at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR). This program will facilitate the translation of discoveries from laboratory to clinic by providing infrastructure and resources to support trials evaluating markers for early diagnosis, prognosis, and predication of benefit to help develop better treatments for cancer patients. She was previously Senior Clinical Investigator and Associate Chief, Investigation Drug Branch, Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program, Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, MD. Her contribution to the meeting will be extremely valuable to provide the latest information on clinical trial regulations and to promote the position of NCIC and OICR on this topic. Dr. Dancey will be a keynote speaker in Symposium IV: Targeted Therapies and Current and Emerging Clinical Trials.
