Dr. Thomas Kislinger, Ph.D., Ontario Cancer Institute, University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada
Guest Speaker
Dr. Thomas Kislinger is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto, and a Tier II Canada Research Chair in Proteomics and Cancer Research. His research program focuses on the application of expression proteomics and allied computational tools to address specific biological questions. He is developing an integrated systems biology approach to better understand the molecular mechanisms associated with early ovarian cancer development through the application of multidimensional protein identification technology (MudPIT). This sensitive and selective isolation technique provides important information into the expression and characterization of surface or plasma membrane proteins from in vitro cell culture systems and relevant body fluids. Dr. Kislinger will be presenting his recent findings in Symposium I: Genomics and Proteomics in the Discovery of Novel Biomarkers and Therapies.
